Theresa Benedetto
Theresa Benedetto is proud to continue serving Dallas ISD as the new principal of Alex Sanger Preparatory School. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, she was raised in a family of public school leaders who instilled in her the importance of relationships, service, and community.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Elementary Education from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan and her Master’s in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from The University of Texas at Arlington.
Ms. Benedetto began her career in a Kindergarten and 4th grade classroom in Michigan before moving to Texas as an 8th-grade English teacher in Richardson ISD. She later joined Dallas ISD as an English teacher at Woodrow Wilson High School. During her time at Woodrow, she taught multiple grade levels and later served as an Instructional Lead Teacher, supporting both students and teachers in International Baccalaureate, Dual Language, and P-TECH programs.
She later served as the Assistant Principal at Benjamin Franklin International Exploratory Academy, where she increased her impact through instructional leadership, student achievement, and strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
Ms. Benedetto is dedicated to empowering all students to reach their full potential through meaningful connections, consistent support, and a culture of excellence. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with friends and family and baking up sweet treats. She is excited to lead the close-knit community of Sanger and provide unwavering support to students, staff, and the community.

I am excited to be part of the Stallion family! I am a life-long learner who is very passionate about education. I believe in the value of education and its impact; consequently, I believe every student can learn and succeed. I have been in education for two decades. I was a middle school teacher for 15 plus years; my teaching years were (all) in Title I schools where I had an exceptionally successful career as an award winning ELAR teacher and impressive student scores on state tests.
I graduated Cum Laude from UT Arlington with a BA in Broadcast Communication; and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M Commerce. This is my fourth year as an administrator, and I am committed to adding value to the Sanger community.
I am a mother to three beautiful children, and outside of work, I love spending time with my children and family, listening to music, reading, and trying new dishes at different restaurants.
